The All-New Van Cleef Flowerlace Collection Has the Entire World Obsessed

If your WhatsApp group hasn’t been blowing up with screenshots of the all-new Van Cleef Flowerlace pieces, you’re either living under a rock or terribly need new friends.

Now, this isn’t just another jewellery launch. It's quite literally the collection that Van Cleef & Arpels revealed at a historic Scottish estate. You know, the one that houses a rose garden and has the Maison’s name?

Here’s everything that happened, why everyone’s suddenly obsessed and why you might need to start saving up.

New Van Cleef Flowerlace Collection

Van Cleef Flowerlace Chose Heritage Over Hype

Like other jewellery brands, the Van Cleef Flowerlace didn't launch with billboards or celebrity Instagram campaigns.

It actually happened in an 18th-century stately home with amazing grounds that include the Van Cleef & Arpels Rose Garden, which was renamed in the Maison's honour in 2023. The collection was launched at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland, in September of 2025, to be exact.

Now you might be wondering why the Dumfries House in particular? That’s because Dumfries House has an incredibly long-standing partnership with none other than The King’s Foundation itself! And they own the estate (not surprising). The Maison has been supporting the preservation of these beautiful historic landscapes for nearly two decades.

Van Cleef flowerlace was launched alongside Fleurs d'Hawaï, another new collection, but Flowerlace is what everyone's still talking about.

Catherine Rénier, CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, explained the thinking: "We wanted to bring our blooming flowers from our creative garden to a real garden that was meaningful to us."

The installations were placed throughout the gardens and greenhouses of Dumfries House and featured pieces from both new collections as well as archival Van Cleef jewels that date all the way back to the golden 1930s and 1940s! What’s even more genius is that these were what directly inspired Flowerlace.

Seeing them together is almost iconic. Like it was heritage reinterpreted. History repeating itself, if you will?

But hold up. The Van Cleef Flowerlace isn’t entirely new. The original Flowerlace High Jewellery collection launched in 2007 in white gold and diamonds. The 2025 Van Cleef & Arpels Flowerlace collection reinterprets that high jewellery concept in yellow gold, while maintaining the same exacting standards.

Catherine Rénier was clear about this at the launch, "Both collections are inspired, but are not replicas, by collections from the 1930s. Flowerlace is this mix of couture and nature."

How is the Flowerlace Any Different From the Rest?

We thought you’d never ask!

The Van Cleef & Arpels Flowerlace collection features just five pieces. Each piece took several months to develop to perfection, and that’s what makes them so special.

All the designs in this collection are rendered in yellow gold, along with diamonds that are graded DEF. DEF, for those of you who don’t know, is the highest colour grade. The clarity of these diamonds ranges from IF to VVS. These are internally flawless to very, very slightly included. In layman's terms, it’s the best of the very best.

And can we take a minute to admire the openwork design? That lace-like quality that everyone keeps Instagramming requires hand-polishing that the CEO herself refers to as “particularly delicate.” That sort of curved relief on every petal isn’t something that comes from standard techniques. It could only be the result of precise work that requires patience and expertise. Which explains the limited production naturally.

You’ll be pleased to know the collection includes:

  • Van Cleef Flowerlace earrings

  • A flowerlace pendant Van Cleef style

  • A transformable clip pendant

  • A standard ring

  • The signature Between the Finger ring

If you take a minute to admire the pieces from the collection, you’ll see diamonds of varying sizes placed asymmetrically in the pistil, the flower’s centre, for those of you who skipped Biology class. But it’s not random. In fact, nothing about nature ever is. The Maison calls this “nature in motion.” How utterly romantic.

Speaking of which, the clip pendant is genius. You can wear it as a brooch or a pendant, depending on your preference. Van Cleef has been creating transformable jewellery ever since the ‘30s. Their archives include necklaces that can transform into stunning bracelets or brooches that convert to clips. The infamous 1939 "Passe-Partout" functioned as a necklace, a bracelet and a belt all in one. Talk about versatility!

Now, ladies, you know what that means. Transformability makes every piece work all the harder for your wardrobe. The Flowerlace pendant Van Cleef style, for example, means you’re getting two looks for the price of one.

What’s With The Between the Finger Ring?

We know what you’re thinking.

Between the Finger rings have been a Van Cleef signature since the 1970s. These delicate bands connect two motifs across your hand in what the Maison poetically calls a "tête-à-tête." They're impossible to ignore and look absolutely stunning.

The Flowerlace version features one single flower motif at your knuckle and a single brilliant diamond at the base of your finger, connected by the flowing gold stem.

Umm… Is No One Else Losing their Mind About the 1930’s Connection Like We are?

As we mentioned before, the Van Cleef Flowerlace collection is a direct reference to the Maisons Silhouette clips dating back to the late ‘30s. These were jewelled pieces that were shaped out to look like ribbons and could be worn in several fabulous ways.

90 years ago, the Maison did something brilliant. They showed the world just how gold can suggest fabric, how jewellery can, in fact, embody movement and how nature can inspire. The Flowerlace interprets the same flowing, ribbon-like gold work that the Silhouette clips feature.

Jean Bienayme, Van Cleef's international marketing director, explained at the Dumfries House launch: "In the Flowerlace collection, the petals are not the same size because it gives an impression of movement, which is something very important to us."

The 2007 collection was in white gold, the 2025 collection in yellow. Was the decision random? Absolutely not. Yellow gold creates what Van Cleef calls intense reflections on the skin. In essence, the metal warms up against your complexion in ways that white gold simply can’t.

The Verdict on the Hype

Is Van Cleef Flowerlace worth the whisper campaigns, the wait lists, and the investment? If you appreciate jewellery that demonstrates genuine craftsmanship, if you value pieces that connect to design heritage, and if you want something immediately recognisable to those who know without being obvious to everyone, then yes. Absolutely yes.

The Van Cleef & Arpels Flowerlace collection is the kind of fine jewellery that becomes more interesting the more you understand about it. It’s just one of those pieces that are timeless, and you know you’ll get multiple uses out of them. Van Cleef doesn’t do expiry dates, so maybe these Flowerlace is calling out your name?
